This is a 60 second commercial used on TV in New Zealand for a couple of years. It functioned as a sort of PSA raising awareness. It features part of a catchy song by Des’Ree, entitled “You Gotta Be.”
It’s a great commercial, and it is a great visual effort to communicate to those who know little about mental illness, and then go on to stigmatize others of us who battle staying sane and whole.
But it certainly isn’t a panacea for all the issues that are out there. But it is a start. Hope you enjoy this. I know it is a different kind of post, and it may not be “your cup of tea.” (I personally have a slight aversion to videos from YouTube, but this is really an exception.)

Hey, Bryan, I like today’s version of the site design a lot better than yesterday’s. :D Just one thing… the subtitle in the banner needs to be a different color, for more contrast. On my monitor, at least, it’s unreadable–and the subtitle is one of the best parts!

I definitely noticed that, this WP Theme isn’t allowing me to adjust the subtitle. But I intend to figure it out (I love this kind of stuff).

OK, I reverted back to an older format. What do you think about the new art in the banner? Let me know.

I like the art. I liked yesterday’s art as well. :)
Today’s art being text, you can’t exactly put the blog name and subtitle on top of it, though… and I notice you brought back “rascals.” That is the VERY best part. In my not-so-humble rascally opinion.
I can usually get around limitations if I futz and fiddle with it long enough. One solution I’ve used is to use Photoshop to make the text part of the artwork, if I can’t get it right any other way. See http://www.montereybayrwa.com for an example… of course, that’s not a WordPress blog, and I had to buy extra software to make that slideshow happen… but I got each image (with its corresponding text) EXACTLY the way I wanted it. :)
Anyway. Love the site, artwork and all, but the content (and the honesty) most of all. .
