Happy St. Patrick’s Day

 

Pray for the Church in Ireland today!  Ask the Lord to raise up pastors and elders that will be faithful to His word and to His flock.  Pray for Christian believers in Ireland who are afflicted with mental illness and chronic depression.  Pray for those who struggle with chemical dependence.

The Jesus Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ,

Son of God,

Have Mercy on me,

A sinner.  Amen.

 

The Jesus Prayer has been used by Christian believers for centuries as an aid to come into the presence of God.  I personally have been praying this prayer for about six months, dozens of times a day.  It has borne good fruit and I would recommend it for any believer.  The Jesus Prayer is based on the prayer of the tax collector standing in the Temple.

 13“But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’
